In Nigeria, 25 percent of women do not have enough resources to handle their menstrual hygiene. Period poverty has an impact on women’s education, emotional well-being, health, comfort, and the economy of their country. To solve this problem, AfriWomen has decided to produce reusable sanitary towels manually and also teach the women and girls who can’t afford it to produce these sanitary towels.
Reusable sanitary towels have several benefits over disposable sanitary products. Some of the most significant benefits include:
