Ibadan, Nigeria

A new chapter has opened for youth entrepreneurship in Nigeria, as the AfriWomen for Entrepreneurship Initiative welcomes the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as a strategic partner in scaling young Nigerian-owned MSMEs. The partnership was formally announced during the AfriWomen International MSME Day 2025, held in Ibadan — a bold, high-impact event that brought the nation’s fashionpreneurs and agripreneurs into the spotlight.
At the forefront of this movement is Adebukola Oso, Founder and CEO of AfriWomen, whose voice continues to shape the future of gender-inclusive enterprise in Africa.
“We are not in business just to survive; we are here to scale, to lead, and to shift the narrative. The Nigerian youth, especially our women don’t need pity, they need platforms. AfriWomen is that platform,”

This year’s MSME Day didn’t just mark a celebration—it launched a 6-month business and mentorship programme designed to build real capacity for youth fashionpreneurs across Nigeria. From brand positioning to funding readiness, young creatives will be supported to grow real businesses with structure, clarity, and sustainable market entry.
Old Allies, New Energy
AfriWomen proudly continues to grow its impact with the unwavering support of core partners:
• Bank of Industry (BOI)
• Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC)
• Oyo State Ministries of Trade and Women Affairs

Their presence at this year’s event, alongside new collaborators like NYSC, signals national recognition of AfriWomen’s mission to formalize informal enterprises and scale untapped talent into visible, investable businesses.
With a diversity and inclusion policy of 80% women and 20% men, AfriWomen remains committed to inclusive prosperity, where both women and men contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s enterprise ecosystem.
