Reaffirming its steadfast commitment to empowering women and youth in agribusiness, AfriWomen recently undertook a courtesy visit to the Agricultural Credit Corporation of Oyo State (ACCOS) in Ibadan. The visit aimed to strengthen strategic partnerships that would enhance support and unlock new opportunities for smallholder farmers, particularly women and young Agripreneurs across the state.

ACCOS plays a critical role in supporting farmers through access to credit, input financing, and cooperative development-making it a key institution in Oyo State’s agribusiness landscape.
During the meeting, AfriWomen engaged with the ACCOS leadership, including the Managing Director, Mr Oladejo, and senior team members Mr Ogundipe, Barrister Aderibigbe, and Mrs Alayande, on several high-impact areas of collaboration, including:

- Strengthening cooperative and aggregation structures to improve farmer organisation, market access, and post-harvest value retention
- Expanding access to affordable, high-quality inputs-including seeds, fertilisers, and tools-through coordinated channels
- Supporting financial inclusion efforts by identifying ways to ease access to credit for women and youth-led agribusinesses
- Co-developing capacity-building programmes to provide technical, business, and leadership training for emerging agripreneurs
This strategic engagement reaffirmed AfriWomen’s commitment to inclusive agribusiness development and its capacity to influence systemic change at both community and institutional levels. By establishing productive partnerships with key stakeholders such as ACCOS, AfriWomen continues to lead efforts to increase rural incomes, drive innovation in agribusiness, and position women and youth at the forefront of Nigeria’s food systems transformation.

AfriWomen remains a trusted catalyst for grassroots empowerment-mobilising resources, designing impactful programmes, and shaping the future of agribusiness in Nigeria.
