At AfriWomen for Entrepreneurship Initiative, we are deliberately investing in the agribusiness sector not as an afterthought, but as a strategic pathway for social and economic transformation for women, girls, communities, and the nation at large.
We are proud to stand at the frontline of a movement to build sustainable women-led agribusinesses, especially in key areas like cassava processing, poultry, aquaculture, and agro-processing.

Empowering Communities Through Cassava Processing
In Nigeria’s rural belt, cassava remains a lifeline for families and a pillar for national food security. Women like Iya Ibeji, alongside thousands of others, wake early to harvest, peel, and transform cassava into garri, fufu, flour, and starch products that feed millions every day.

At AfriWomen, we go beyond storytelling, we offer hands-on support:
- Access to processing tools and cooperative systems
- Agribusiness training and extension services
- Market access and finance linkage
A Growing Network of Agribusiness Champions
With over 3,500 active farmers (and counting), AfriWomen’s footprint is real, growing, and impactful. These women and youth are working across crops, livestock, processing, and agritrade and we’re just getting started.
Forthcoming Regional Programmes
We are expanding our impact with bold regional programs rolling out across:
- South West Nigeria
- North Central Nigeria
- South South Nigeria
These programmes are designed to equip, finance, and empower existing and aspiring female agripreneurs with skills, tools, and connections to scale their businesses sustainably. This is not just growth, it’s IGNITION. And as we ignite the fire in these zones, we are laying foundations across other regions of Nigeria and Africa.
Why Agribusiness? Why Women?
Nigeria’s food system cannot thrive without the deliberate inclusion and empowerment of women. Women are the backbone of agriculture yet face exclusion from credit systems, land rights, inputs, and export markets. AfriWomen is shifting that narrative:- one training, one cooperative, one region at a time.
Call for Collaboration
We invite:
- International development partners
- Foundations and donor organizations
- Government agencies and ministries
- Private sector players
- Impact investors and agricultural innovators to partner with AfriWomen as we scale bold solutions in agribusiness that are women-led, climate-smart, and economically sound.
Together, we can grow women. Grow food. Grow Africa.
Join us. Invest in the women who feed the nation.
