AfriWomen for Entrepreneurship Initiative has once again demonstrated its role as a leading force for economic empowerment, social inclusion, and sustainable development in Nigeria. The organization recently convened an impactful event that brought together women entrepreneurs, youths, agribusiness stakeholders, and development professionals to address the pressing challenges facing women-led MSMEs, particularly in the agro-sector.
Held at the heart of Ibadan, the event reinforced AfriWomen’s deep-rooted commitment to building a resilient and self-sustaining generation of women entrepreneurs, leveraging agriculture as a tool for wealth creation, food security, and poverty alleviation.

“We are not just running an NGO, we are raising a movement,” said Chief Adebukola Oso, Founder and CEO of AfriWomen and a PhD researcher specializing in women-led MSMEs particularly agribusiness as a panacea for poverty and food insecurity. “The voices we amplify, the entrepreneurs we train, and the solutions we co-create are all part of a bold response to structural and systemic economic exclusion. We are proud to stand at the intersection of gender, law, and enterprise.”
The event’s success was powered by the strength of the AfriWomen team, a vibrant blend of professionals from diverse academic and sectoral backgrounds, spanning law, social sciences, mass communication, agricultural extension, animal husbandry, and crop production. Their shared passion and collaborative spirit remain the bedrock of the organization’s achievements.

AfriWomen also salutes the unwavering commitment of its advisory board, whose strategic insight continues to guide the NGO’s impactful programming. The event was graced by the respected presence of Chief Babalola, AfriWomen’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, who reaffirmed the board’s full support and alignment with the organization’s mission.
“This team is not only passionate but equipped,” Chief Oso added. “From grassroots capacity-building to policy advocacy, we are intentional about sustainability, accountability, and excellence.”
With this event, AfriWomen has further positioned itself as the go-to NGO for innovative, community-driven solutions in women’s economic development, agribusiness empowerment, and youth inclusion.
