On September 5, the AfriWomen Cooperative achieved a significant milestone with the unveiling of AfriWomen Cooperative+, a new initiative aimed at supporting business owners within its cooperative. The launch, led by the organization’s forward thinking founder and CEO, Adebukola Oso, introduced this program as a vital step for entrepreneurs looking to scale their operations. This unveiling was done in collaboration with Khalliss.
AfriWomen Cooperative+ is specifically designed for entrepreneurs who already have established businesses but require access to critical resources such as equipment.
During the event, the CEO emphasized that AfriWomen Cooperative+ is not for startups but for entrepreneurs with an existing foothold in the market. The initiative provides loans with low and affordable interest rate, and to ensure sustainability, it also encourages cluster groups. This collaborative approach encourages peer support and shared responsibility among cooperative members.
Held at the AfriWomen office, the event was well-attended by cooperative members eager to hear more about the program. The CEO passionately explained the gaps AfriWomen Cooperative+ is set to fill: “Tough times never last. But tough people do. We’ve seen that many businesses hit a plateau because they lack access to equipment or the capital needed for expansion. With Khalliss as our partner, we’re bringing in resources that will allow our women entrepreneurs to overcome these barriers.”
