In November 2021, the AfriWomen purchased
A wide selection of books including early year range of novels, adults novels, literacy, numeracy, dictionary and history books for
A mini mobile library to serve her Adult Literacy Centres.
The mobile library was received with open excitement at the centres. In January, when our centres went on holiday the AfriWomen Mobile Library has proved extremely functional for our centres especially the Akingbola Centre where most of our students are young and teenage mothers and carers.
Staff visit the centres weekly to serve our students. Feedbacks from our students have been impressive. Their feedbacks include their being able to borrow books during the literacy centre’s holiday.
One of our students Fatima commented that being able to use the mobile library meant that she could improve on her speaking and the spelling of English.
Other students noted that borrowing books from the mobile library also helps to keep their children engaged in reading and the children could also assist their mothers to learn.
The aim of the AfriWomen Mobile Library Initiative is to bring the library to the community. Weekly, our library brings resources to our students who otherwise may not get a chance to benefit from the government’s library.
The staff at the AfriWomen all agree that our mobile library is a beneficial addition to libraries and the library’s services. Wherever feasible, mobile libraries should be implemented. We look forward to growing our book collections.
We are open to book donations from the public. Donate your clean and unused books to the AfriWomen library today and receive recognition on our social media platform and you stand to win a prize at our end of the year party.

The AfriWomen Ambassadors Pick Literature Book for their Club.
Congratulations to the AfriWomen Ambassadors for reading and discussing their choice literature book- AreseUgwu’s Smart Money Woman.
The AfriWomen book club promotes a love of literature in a positive, nurturing environment.
Within our ambassador book club community, our young women are empowered by their group leaders Comfort Oladeji and TumiOlatoye to learn about and discuss something that matters to their personal development.
The AfriWomen book club initiative is also an agency that encourage all participants to talk about what they love and explore topical issues around the country.
Enrolment for the next AfriWomen ambassador programme is open in May this year.
